Please excuse my lack of presence over the last couple of days.  I’ve become lost in Panem and hope to return shortly.  Meanwhile, have a great rest of the weekend!

The power of prayer

Tonight on my drive home, I was able to see the lines on the road for the first time in 48 hours.  It was an amazing feeling, knowing where I was at and where I was going.  If only I could feel that kind of certainty all the time.

Just a quick note

Hiya! It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I’ve been keeping plenty busy the last week or so and, for the next few days at least, it looks to remain the same. Big things going at the day job have been keeping me tied up from nine to five-ish and my book club’s selection of the month has been keeping me spellbound after hours, in addition to the usual craziness.

So, to sum up: I’m sorry for being so absent! But I plan to share many book thoughts soon (I’ve been collecting them as I read – God, it feels good to be reading age-appropriate material again!). But until then, sweet dreams!

Just one more thing

I’ll be posting about my talk with the students at Reinbeck Elementary School soon.  Yesterday and today have both been pretty long days, though – Cricket just can’t seem to shake this flu bug.  In the meantime, posting may be a bit sporadic.  I imagine everyone’s schedules are in a bit of flux this month, so I hope you’ll all kindly bear with me.  I should be back to normalish soonish.

Zzzzz…

What a day!  It’s been a rough couple of days for me, guys.  Today I worked straight through my lunch hour and didn’t have a chance to do any writing till sometime after seven o’clock tonight.  It was nuts!  But hopefully things will settle down after tomorrow.  In the meantime, I’ll be posting more snippets soon.

But now, bed.  We have a date.  I need all the Z’s.

Monday cometh

And another long holiday weekend bites the dust. I find myself wishing that tomorrow wasn’t Monday because I’ve got loads more writing to do and little time in which to get it done. Oh, well, I guess. C’est la vie.

Strange times

Yesterday, the courthouse groundskeeper was busy putting up fresh evergreen garland around the lampposts that dot the square.  Today, he was busy mowing the lawn and it felt like spring.  I know it’s Iowa and the weather will change at the drop of a hat, but dude – it’s November.  Get with the program.

Just don’t swear.  You can hold off on that till after New Year’s.

Picking up steam!

I broke the 10k mark on my WIP over the weekend.  Woohoo!  I just broke it, but still.  It was enough to allow me to publicize what I’ve written so far on authonomy, which I’ve done now, if anyone wants to take a look.  I’d like to get some feedback on where things are going and how things are developing.  I feel like my writing is stronger this time around, but that doesn’t mean I won’t have a lot of work left to do once the writing part is finished.

If you’d like to check it out, it’s tentatively titled The Lokana Chronicles: Fog of War and you can find it here.  I’m terrible with titles and I’m really not satisfied with that one, but I suppose it’ll do until I can think of a better one (by the way, if anyone would like to submit some title ideas, I’m all ears).

Movin’ right along!

Guess who just finished the first chapter of her newest WIP?  That’s right!  Given that I’ve only been writing (not plotting) for what – a week? – and the fact that I don’t have a whole lot of free time in which to write, I’m pretty proud of myself.  I can’t wait to see how everything is going to turn out. 🙂

So, about your border…

Finally got around to putting up Tomcat’s wallpaper border tonight.  It went more or less okay until we got to the closet.

This crap should be drug out into the street and shot.  Repeatedly.

In other news, tomorrow I will probably have a post on how awesome Tomcat’s room looks.  You know, after the electrician finishes installing his ceiling fan and I get everything put back in his room where it belongs. 😀

That is all.
