Room-ba!

We’ve lived in our house for three years now and have done some extensive remodeling in that time.  Almost every room in our house has had something done to it.  At last, we’ve crossed Tomcat’s room off our list.

Since we have three boys, we have a set of bunk beds.  The littler two aren’t quite old enough for them yet, but they will be one day, so in the meantime, Tomcat gets to choose whether he has top bunk or bottom.  While they’re great for accommodating a large number of children in a small number of bedrooms, they’re not so great when it comes to repainting a room.  Case in point:

As you can see, the bunk beds were a bit of a problem.  Did I say problem? I meant to say that they posed their own special challenge (by which I, of course, mean that they were a colossal pain in my back side).

Also?  I hate radiators.  Closets, too.

But I LOVE Star Trek.  Seymour is being gracious enough to lend Tomcat some things from his collection, which is code for, “I ran out of room for all my stuff, but since you have an outer space-themed bedroom, I’ll let you borrow it if you want.”

And, while I despise wallpaper border (I personally believe that it should be drug out into the street and shot repeatedly at close range with a high caliber weapon for that extra satisfying endorphin rush) and would have really appreciated the ease of the peel-and-stick kind we already had, this one was so much cooler.  And that globe is wicked cool, too.  Also, I took this picture in the dark.  With my phone.  Which is pretty dang cool, if I do say so myself.

And you know I do. 🙂

Transformer sheets and a Star Wars night light round out the room.  Unfortunately, I didn’t get the night light in the picture.  It’s a shame because it’s a really neat one, one that he could keep even as an adult as a keepsake.

Anyway, there’s still a lot of work to be done in there, but it’s looking a lot better than it did before and we had one happy boy tonight, which sure made us happy.  (That wallpaper border nearly killed us.)  And speaking of work, now it’s time to rest up so that I can get back to work tomorrow!  For tomorrow, I query…again.  Hopefully this time, the results will be better than last time.

Happy Friday!
