Photo Friday: Out and about!

This week’s Photo Friday is all about being out and about, and since it’s Independence Day here in the good ol’ U.S. of A., I can’t think of a better place to be than out and about.

I started the day off out and about at our old house, prepping for the open house this weekend.  That was followed up by a trip to the park, which is where the bulk of my hometown’s Fourth of July festivities take place:

We missed the parade, but the nap we took at home was well worth it – we were all plenty tired after a morning spent painting, pulling weeds, mowing lawn, and sweeping paint chips.

The Fourth of July isn’t just Independence Day in my family, though.  It also happens to be my uncle’s birthday, and this year my aunt and my cousin threw him a surprise party for his 60th birthday.  It was a small party, just our families and a couple of friends, but it was a lot of fun:

We capped off our busy day with a movie at home.  We had planned to try watching the fireworks from our front yard, but once we sat down, it was hard to get back up (and I don’t know if we can see Reinbeck’s fireworks from our house, anyway).

How was your Fourth of July?  Did you see any good parades or fireworks displays?  If you’re an international reader, how did you spend the first Friday of July?

Don’t forget to stop by Charnele’s blog and see what she’s up to!
