I still can’t get over how beautiful it was yesterday. It was a little chilly, but not bad. Sweatshirt weather.
I love sweatshirt weather.
But today? Today we’re back in the cold, gray dumps. It’s wet, but not windy (for the first time in a good week and a half). I woke up exhausted, which makes the grayness seem even more dreary, somehow.
So today I’m sharing another of the beauties I captured yesterday. It fairly screams spring. It’s cheery and bright and just the thing to chase away the gray.
How do you chase away the gray?

I don’t bother since it’s always horrible in blighty. What are those beautiful flowers? I’ve never seen them before.

I think it’s a zinnia, but I’m not positive. It’s certainly pretty, though. 🙂

I’ll have to get some of those for my patch. I wonder how they react to fox urine, or which we have plenty.

I have no idea. I don’t even remember seeing them last year. All I know is that I haven’t killed them yet, so I’m happy to continue leaving the watering up to the clouds. 🙂

I’ve just checked. They do grow over here so I’ll pick some up at the garden centre at the weekend. My new grass is growing well after the dratted foxes poisoned it all. I’ll put electrified fences all round.

Yay!
Our yard could do with some new grass. Right now all the weeds are choking it out, but we haven’t had much time to take care of it properly since we bought the place. Hopefully that will change next year.

I saw some great grass whilst in Disney World a few years ago. It’s about three times thicker than the stuff we get over here. Unfortunately we can’t buy it and if I smuggled some through customs and was discovered I’d probably do abut ten years in jail.

We had a beautiful lawn when we were engaged, but that was two yards ago. Someday I hope we can have that kind of thick, lush, heavenly yard again. It’ll take a while, though.

I turn on the lights, make a hot cup of tea or coffee, fire up my computer (when it decides to work) and get to writing! Sweatshirt weather is also my favorite. Wearing one now (5 a.m.) with temps in the upper 40s.

It’s about the same here this morning, but at least the sun is out and it’s supposed to warm up into the 70’s later. Still, a nice mug of tea might be just what I need to get my brain firing on all cylinders… *scampers off to fix tea* 😀
Isn’t sweatshirt weather the best? Not too hot, not too cold, just right for snuggling up with a cozy blanket and the one you love… 🙂
