…I would learn to speak Spanish fluently (cuz I’ve forgotten most of what I knew).
…I would read all the books I own from cover to cover at least once (but probably more).
…I would travel.
…I would finish that degree I started thirteen years ago.
…I would take up piano.
And if I sat here thinking for long enough, I’m sure I could double the length of this list. 🙂 How about you – what would you do, if only you had the time?

I’ve been fortunate enough to read a lot of great British writing in the last five years. It’s the only reason I can think of for my fingers to replace Z’s with S’s (that’s my most common slip). 🙂

Many of your list items are very similar to my own. Writing, organizing, photography, piano, reading, travel, all the same. I’d be re-learning French instead of Spanish, though. I used to be fluent, but 20 years of not speaking a language tends to make you forget a few verbs.

I took four years of Spanish in high school and a semester of French in college (plus I studied it, as well as German, on my own my senior year of high school). That’s been a very long time ago, though, and sadly, I didn’t keep in practice, and thirteen years is a long time to go without practicing. I would love to learn all three of those languages so that I could converse fluently, but Spanish is the most practical one to know for where I live. It would come in particularly handy at work.
I wonder if I could convince my old Spanish teacher to tutor me… 🙂

I was in a french immersion school for grades one through 8, and I signed up for French in high school as well, only to discover that it was a beginner level french and even the teacher didn’t really speak it. Very frustrating. Maybe we should both go try something like DuoLingo… Add that to the “If I had time..” list.

That’s really sad about your high school class. I always thought it would be fantastic to go to an immersion school, but I only know of one near where I live. Of course, by the time I found out about it, I was in college, and it’s an elementary school… *sigh* *scampers back over to DuoLingo*

I hated it at the time, but now I look back and wish I’d kept it up, French isn’t as handy in Illinois, but it would have been useful when we were living in Louisiana, and will be useful if we ever move up to Canada (that’s where I’m from, and my family is all up there).

I feel the same about Spanish – I wish I’d continued with it in college. Now I want to continue with it, but time and money are both problems. I’m poking around the DuoLingo site, though, and it looks promising. 🙂

Nothing at all wrong with it, unless – like me – you use Word. It seems to think that words like flavour and licence are misspelled. 😉

That’s because Word is a US package. I now use a German software package and now words like dumkopf have begun appearing in my writing.
