Twinkle Lights

wpid-wp-1447634339328.jpgStars twinkle brightly
In the winter sky as a
Freak storm drifts on by.

On the horizon,
Christmas lights blink a merry
Greeting from the fields

As the turbines spin
Round and round, dancing away
The glorious night.

This is very lovely. There were wind turbines in the surrounding countryside where I went to college. I always thought they had a tranquil subtle beauty about them…
As long as you don’t think about all the dead birds, I guess.

      Thanks!

I kind of go back and forth on them. Sometimes I think they’re pretty, like in the picture above, but then sometimes I hate the sight of them. Mostly I feel that way at night when I want to enjoy the glory of a star-filled sky, but the blinking red horizon line distracts me.

And of course, the dead birds…I hadn’t even considered them. They probably hate them more than I do. ๐Ÿ˜€
