The next big thing

The next big thing…we all like to think we will be.  I suppose there can only be so many Twilights in a lifetime, but you never know…right?

We are blog hopping our way through some new reads.  For those who aren’t familiar with a blog hop, to me it’s kind of like a treasure hunt.  Once you find something on one blog, you hop on over to the next blog link for more treasure.  In this case, the treasure is a wealth of new and exciting books.  Some are still being written, some are just being released.  Either way, for fiction lovers, it’s a treasure and I’d like to thank Lindsey J. Parsons for tagging me to participate.

In this particular hop I answer ten questions.  You get to learn about my current WIP (Work In Progress), some of the characters I’ve come to think of as real, and how I got to the point of being nuts enough to write down over 70 thousand words worth of what the voices in my head have been whispering to me.  When it’s all said and done, comments and questions are always welcome! This way to the Q&A!

Sunday chat

Ah, Sundays.  Those lazy days before Mondays and work and craziness are days to be treasured.  This particular Sunday, you can find me chatting with romance author Tory Richards over at her blog, Romance with an Attitude.  We talk about writing and family and some other completely random things.  Why not check it out?

Tomorrow the fun will really begin with GUTGAA.  Actually, I’ve been having quite a lot of fun with it already, as there are quite a lot of lovely people to chat with on the Twitter hashtag #GUTGAA.  I also received some helpful advice during the pitch polish event.  Now I’ll get to see how well I implemented it…

And now I think it’s time for a nap.  Yep, this is one lazy Sunday. 🙂

Quick update!

Hey hey hey, I’ve been interviewed again!  This time I owe my thanks to Ed Evans, proprietor of Sisters Noire.  Because apparently I can’t shut up, this will be the first part of a multi-part interview, so if you’re interested in hearing more about me blathering on about Lokana and books and writing and such, stay tuned for updates!

Also, check out Sisters Noire.  It’s seriously cool stuff.

And now, back to the writing cave.  I’ve passed the halfway point of my revisions, so there was some happy dancing done the other night.  I’m really looking forward to being done with the edits (or at least with this round of them, anyway) because between the heat, a killer week at work, and all the critical thinking I’m doing in my off hours, I feel like my brain has transformed into a big gray puddle of goo.  Said puddle of goo must now think I’ve gone pond-hopping because I’ve been spelling things the British way all day.

And with that, I’ll leave you all with this:

Happy Thursday!

Interviewed once more!

The questions have been flying once again.  Yep, folks, that’s right – I’ve been interviewed!  All thanks go to Tricia Drammeh this time (again, actually).  Head on over to her Authors to Watch site and join the conversation!

Big things are going on in my neck of the woods, but that’s another post for another time.  In the meantime, I’ll be starting a Photo Friday feature this coming week.  I meant to start it yesterday, but housework beckoned and I’m pretty sure Seymour was ecstatic that I heeded the call to clean instead of the call to blog. 🙂

And now, back to Mt. Laundry.  I’ve nearly reached the summit – I can’t stop now!

Authors to Watch and more

Ah, authors to watch.  There must be a jillion of them.  I, however, am referring to ten certain authors who were featured yesterday in an interview by Tricia Drammeh.  She asked the question, “Why do you write fantasy?” and received some great answers from some great authors, including yours truly (although I make no claims as to my greatness).  Check it out!  Each interviewee provided links to a variety of sites at which you can check out their work and/or learn more about them.

In other news, rumor has it that the release of Promises, the second Timeless Series novel, will be delayed.  Fans of Lisa Wiedmeier’s fantasy series will now have to wait till the end of May to continue following Cheyenne’s adventures.

I’ve almost finished the Kindle version of Tuesday Daydreams.  Learning the formatting stuff was easy enough for the most part, but I still have a couple of glitches to work out here and there.  I hope to have the Kindle version available for purchase by the end of the week (by which I mean the end of the calendar week, not tomorrow).  I had Chinese for lunch today and ate my fortune cookie on the way back to work.  I had to chuckle as I read my fortune:Channel your energy into something positive.  I’d say all this work on my writing is definitely something positive. 🙂

Last but not least, the rain has come at long last and everything is turning a lovely shade of green.  I adore spring. ♥

I’ve been interviewed!

That’s right, I’ve been interviewed again!  This time the Grand Inquisitor was none other than the Alliance’s resident Lady Midnight Marauder, Katrina Anne Jack.  You can read the interview over at her blog.  Meanwhile, be sure to check out her book, The Land of Midnight Days!

In other news, the editing continues.  I’ve finished revising the first fourth of the book and am ready to get cracking on the rest of it.  Now if only I could find some spare time in the evenings!  There just aren’t enough hours in the day to accomplish everything I need to get done as well as everything I want to get done.  Oh, if only needs and wants were always the same!

Note the new domain!

Looky!  I got a pretty new domain!  If you’re following me via RSS, you should probably make sure that you update your feed reader.

In other news, I’ve been interviewed!  Head over to Griffin’s Quill and click on Featured Author to find out the answers to such fascinating questions as:

Who is your favorite character?
What two books would you take with you into the future? and
Should vampires sparkle?

All this and more at Griffin’s Quill!

Update:I just got word that the interview should be posted over the weekend. Stay tuned! And while you’re there, check out the interviews with some other great authors. I’m in good company!

Update: It’s up!  Head on over and check it out!
