2015-02-15 08.25.30Don’t let that adorable face fool you – this is his mischievous smile.  This smile says, “I’m gonna do somethin’…Somethin’ bad…Muahahaha!”

And now I’m having flashbacks to Gerbil in a Microwave.  That was fun. 🙂

I love my little Thumper bunny, but wow – this kid…He’s definitely something else.  On the bright side, he woke up this morning with a dry diaper, so I’m super excited because I hate potty training and am really looking forward to being done with it.  That is probably all I’ll say on the topic until I can throw out the diapers for good, but I was so excited this morning that I was ready to scream it from the rooftops. 🙂

Happy Friday, everybody!

Yesterday was Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent.  The day before, Tuesday, Seymour gave me this:

And, glutton for punishment that I am, I’ve decided to give it up for Lent.  Yes, writers write, but we also consume vast amounts of chocolate.  What have I done? 😛

Do you give things up for Lent?  What are you giving up this year?

We had Seymour’s birthday supper last night, even though his birthday was Monday.  It was pretty good, even if I did mess up the chicken a little bit.

My candle placement skills are improving; last year’s design wasn’t nearly so impressive.

And the kids thought I’d run out of candles.  Ha! 😀

It’s been a heck of a long week already, and I’m really feeling it mentally.  So on that note, here’s another baby picture from this past weekend:

Here’s hoping I’m feeling a little more with it tomorrow.  Have a great Tuesday, everybody! 🙂

godbrothersWe had company this weekend in the form of an adorable baby.  Seymour’s cousin and her family came for Miss Tadpole’s piano recital and stayed for the day.  I got my baby fix, we played cards, there was good food and lots of fun – it was a perfect day.

The only thing that could have made it better is if Seymour hadn’t had such a nasty cold.

Meanwhile, Cricket is completely enamored of his new little godbrother, and was tickled pink at getting the chance to hold him.  Very carefully.  Under the watchful eyes of all parents in the house and a big sister to boot. 🙂

How did you spend your weekend?

I love how moisture brings out the color in an otherwise dreary landscape:

mossy

I took this a couple of weeks ago, back before our newest round of snow made this beautiful apple tree even more beautiful.  Sadly, I never managed to get a picture of it dusted with snow. 😦

Revisions continue, and I’m happy to report that I think I’ve crossed that hump I was stuck on.

I scan my handwritten pages so that I can type them up later, and as I was trying to open the scanner app on my phone, I accidentally activated my camera instead.  When it opened, it showed the image above.  For whatever reason, it spoke to me, and I wanted to share.  I really hope the rest of this revision goes as swimmingly as today’s writing session; I’d love to be done with this revision so that I can polish it up and send it out!

I arrived home last night to find two packages sitting by my garage.  We occasionally get packages, and occasionally our letter carrier actually leaves them by our garage as we’ve requested a whole bunch of times.  But last night, I was surprised to find that one of them was addressed to me.

I hadn’t ordered anything recently, so what in the world could it be?  The return address indicated that it had come from California, but I couldn’t remember if the ZIP code listed was the same as my bestie’s or not, and if it was, I couldn’t figure out what she would be mailing me.

coffee

But then I opened the box, and remembered that I’d joined Blurb’s Coffee & Quill Society back in November, and here they were sending me a free coffee mug!  I do love freebies, especially the useful sort.  Now I have something with which to imbibe my writerly go-juice at home, and I can’t wait to try it out tonight. 🙂

TLC Revision Notes 4_2So, how’s the writing been going?

Well, uh…

You see that picture to the right?  It’s taken me all week to write that much (plus two lines on the preceding page).  You might say it’s been slow going.  Lord knows I would.

In fact, I might even go so far as to say that writing this particular section of The Price of Mercy has been akin to pulling teeth, to pounding my head against the table until words bleed out, to prying the sweet story meat from my brain with a crowbar.  In short, it’s been a brutal, bloody mess, and I hope that when I finish this revision and get the think edited, it reads well because writing it has been a complete and total #*!@$.

What have you all been up to lately?
