And the winners are…

The Summer Reads Blog Tour is finally at an end.  Can you believe it?  I know I can’t!  It seems like just yesterday I was sharing the first round of great books.  What happened to summer?

At any rate, the winners of the Rafflecopter contest have been chosen, and if you scroll down, you can see who won which prizes and how to claim them!  So long, summer, and hello, booky goodness!

And the winners are…

All good things…

As the old saying goes, all good things must come to an end, and so it is for the Summer Reads Blog Tour.  Here to wrap things up is our lovely host, Lisa L. Wiedmeier, with a few thoughts on what has been, for me – and hopefully for you, too – a fantastic time.

Summer Reads Blog Tour
Week Twelve & Thirteen

I keep staring at the calendar to my left, staring at it and wondering where the weeks have gone. Are you doing the same thing? *shakes head* Twelve, almost thirteen glorious weeks of summer have already flown by and in those weeks we’ve had the pleasure of meeting other great authors and hearing a whole lot about what their favorite reads are. When I started planning out this Blog Tour with Sam, we had decided that we wanted to give to you the opportunity to learn about our other author friends, and pass on to you the pleasure of perhaps finding new reads, some off the beaten path, for your enjoyment.

As this Summer Reads Blog Tour winds down…

We’re in the homestretch!

Holy time warp, Batman – how is it week eleven already?  Well, regardless, it’s my pleasure to introduce my very good friend, Sophie Tallis.  I hope you’ll enjoy reading her recommendations as much as I did! 🙂

Summer Reads Blog Tour – Week Eleven
Sophie Tallis

I’m beginning to wonder where all the time has gone, I mean eleven weeks have already slipped by in this Summer Reads Blog Tour. Where has the summer gone?
I sure hope you’ve been enjoying the Summer Reads Blog as much as I have with meeting all these new faces and new reads. We’ve just got two more weeks left and I’ve saved the best for last. Let’s welcome Sophie Tallis and her books along with her recommended reads.
A Bristol born gal, I grew up in a sleepy village, dreaming of dragons and wild adventures. I haven’t grown up much and sincerely hope I never do. I live in the Cotswolds with my family, two enormous white wolves, two even bigger Alaskan Malamutes and a load of wild ducks who basically run the place! I was a full-time teacher, dulling young minds…ahem…I mean inspiring young children for the past 16 years and am now a librarian, a dream job being surrounded by books all day!

Although I primarily write epic fantasy…

More great reads for the dog days of summer!

How can it be August already?  It seems like we just started this amazing blog tour, and suddenly it’s Week 10!  If someone would be kind enough to explain to me what happened to the last ten weeks, I’d love you forever.  I mean, it’s still only June, right?  Right?

Summer Reads Blog Tour – Week Ten
A.F.E. Smith

Drum roll please as we’re already into week ten of our Summer Reads Blog Tour, and welcome A.F.E. Smith!

My name is A.F.E. Smith and I can usually be found online in the form of a robin. But I’ve been categorically told that I have to include a picture of my real face for this blog tour, so here it is …

In human form, I work as an editor and also as a parent, and squeeze writing in around the edges. (My son is two and I have a daughter on the way, so the edges are pretty squeezed.) Things I like include snacks, books, complex maths problems, snacks, animated films and snacks.

My debut novel, DARKHAVEN, is coming soon as an ebook from Harper Voyager. It’s a fast-paced fantasy whodunnit featuring love, murder and obsession, carriage chases, duels to the death and a very angry Wyvern, set in a unique city in the throes of industrial revolution. Here’s a little bit more about it…

Summer reads are here again!

Can you believe it’s week nine already? I know I can’t! But just because we’re nine weeks in doesn’t mean that we’ve run out of great reads. Keep reading to find out which books Michel Prince recommends for your literary enjoyment this summer!

Summer Reads Blog Tour – Week Nine
Michel Prince

Week nine in the Summer Blogs Tour is here and I’m hoping you’ve been enjoying meeting new faces and trying new reads. It’s time to welcome Michel to my blog tour, another friend I met through Authonomy when we were all just newbies starting out. You won’t want to miss out on her reads list and her own books. Check them out – if you’re a romance junkie like me, you won’t be disappointed!

Michel Prince is an author who graduated with a bachelor degree in History and Political Science. Michel writes new adult and adult paranormal romance as well as contemporary romance.

This week’s Summer Reads guest is…me!

This week, it’s my turn! I hope you’ve enjoyed everyone’s recommendations so far – this has been a whole lot of fun, and I’m tickled to share my summer book picks with you. Read on to find out what they are, and don’t forget to enter the giveaway at the end of the post! There’s lots of awesome prizes, including a copy of my poetry collection, Tuesday Daydreams!

Summer Reads Blog Tour – Week Eight

Kay Kauffman

Tick tock, tick tock, it’s week eight in our Summer Reads Blog Tour and I’ve come to welcome Kay Kauffman to our madness!  Kay is another lovely online friend from Authonomy who I’ve been chatting with now for a number of years.  She’s fun, has a gentle spirit that I simply adore, and will be the first to gather her popcorn bucket when Sam and I start our online battles!  Let’s hear it up for Kay!

As a girl, I dreamed of being swept off my feet by my one true love. At the age of 24, it finally happened…and he’s never let me forget it. A mild-mannered secretary by day and a determined word-wrangler by night, I battle the twin evils of distraction and procrastination in order to write fantastical tales of wuv…twue wuv…with a few bad haiku thrown in for good measure.
I reside in the midst of an Iowa corn field with my hopelessly devoted husband and his mighty red pen; four crazy, cute kids; and an assortment of adorable kitties, chicks, and bunnies.

Where is the time going?

Can you believe it’s Week 7 already? I know I can’t! Here, with some more great summer reads, is author, friend, and fellow Worldbuilder Sammy HK Smith.

Summer Reads Blog Tour – Week Seven

Sammy HK Smith

Week seven is already here, and it’s time to introduce Sammy HK Smith!  Sammy is another Authonomy friend who didn’t run away when I send a friend request via Facebook!  Some do you know…lol.  Anyway, along with others on this Blog Tour, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know her and her writings.  You won’t want to miss out on her work and recommendations from Goodreads.  Here’ssssss Sammy!
Sammy lives and works in the sunny county of Oxfordshire in the UK with her husband, 14 cats, 2 dogs and hamster, Georgeski. When time allows, she writes. In Search of Gods and Heroes is her first book, and the first  of the Children of Nalowyn series.

Summer Reads to take your mind off the weather

Today’s Summer Reads guest is the wonderful Tricia Drammeh, a terrific friend and author.  Let’s see which books she recommends!

Summer Reads Blog Tour – Week Six Tricia Drammeh

Super excited to introduce you to Tricia Drammeh! Tricia is another friend that I’ve had the privilege of getting to know over the last several years from a site called Authonomy. It’s a site where writers go to post their manuscripts and have their peers read and critique. I loved her manuscript, her style of writing from the moment I first read her work. It’s really cool to be able to say “I read her original work before it was published!” And now a word from Tricia!

me-3Hi everyone! My name is Tricia Drammeh, and I’m super excited to be a part of the 2014 Summer Reads Blog Tour. I hope you all are finding lots of great books to read this summer. I know I’ve found a bunch and I’d love to share some with you, but first here’s a little about me and my books.

Tricia Drammeh is a wife, the mother of four wonderful kids, and the author of four published novels. She currently lives in New Hampshire with her family. When she isn’t writing, she can be found reading, wrangling cats, or drinking lots and lots of coffee. You can connect with Tricia by visiting her Website or following her on Facebook.

Twenty-three-year-old Karlie is in the type of rut some people never escape from.

In need of a good read? I know I am!

Here in the Midwest, the last couple of days have been a nightmare, at least at our house (well, part of the time was a lot of fun, but the storms have definitely taken their toll), so I’m glad to have another Summer Reads Blog Tour post to share today. Let’s have a look at the books that fellow Worldbuilder Andrea Baker has chosen, shall we? That oughtta keep my mind off the river forming outside my door, at least for a little while…

Summer Reads Blog Tour – Week Five
Andrea Baker

It’s week five already, and it’s time to welcome Andrea Baker. I had the privilege of meeting Andrea a number of years ago on a forum, we became fast friends and have watched each other’s work develop over the years. It’s always amazing for me to look back and see all the changes we’ve been through. Take a peek at not only Andrea’s reads list, but also her books. You won’t be disappointed!

Andrea Baker has had ideas for stories, and poems all of her life, and as a child and teenager, many of these were written in one shape or another.

As she grew older, and graduated University, she convinced herself that writing was a childhood adventure, and something that she should have grown out of – that these daydreams belonged in the realms of childhood.  For many years she stopped herself writing – although her mind continued creating these worlds and stories, she refused to write them down.

Over the last decade, however…

Need a new book? Check these out!

The Summer Reads Blog Tour is here again, and this time the guest is the hilarious Will Macmillan Jones, Comedy Goon of the Alliance of Worldbuilders!  To see which books he recommends, scroll down.  And don’t forget to head over to host Lisa L. Wiedmeier’s blog, where you can enter to win a whole bunch of fantastic prizes!

Summer Reads Blog Tour – Week Four
Welcome Will Macmillan Jones!

Well, week four of the Summer Reads Blog Tour brings us a dear friend and fellow author, Will Macmillan Jones. Will’s the comedic act in our group with his dry sense of humor, I can’t help but smile when I read his posts or chat away in a lively conversation.

Will Macmillan Jones live in Wales, a lovely green, verdant land with a rich cultural heritage. He does his best to support this heritage by drinking the local beer and shouting loud encouragement whenever International Rugby is on the TV. A fifty something lover of blues, rock and jazz he has just fulfilled a lifetime ambition by filling an entire wall of his home office with (full) bookcases.

His major comic fantasy series, released by Safkhet Publishing, can be found at: www.thebannedunderground.com and information on his other work and stuff in general at…
