The Photo Friday throwback continues!

IMG_20150507_0001Today’s photo features me as a teenager.  Well, I’m in there somewhere – see that little speck of purple?  That’d be me. 🙂

Way back when, my friends and I had lots of fun shooting roll after roll of film on my little point-and-shoot camera.  I have so many great photos from my teen years!  What I love about this one is the color – just look at all those greens!

Don’t forget to stop by Charnele’s blog and see what she’s got for today.

What did you enjoy doing with your friends in your younger years?

I recently discovered that Lindor makes truffle bars in addition to actual truffles.

Dear. Lord.  Hallelujah!

Now if only they weren’t so blessed expensive (the only place I’ve seen them is my local gas station, who want a whopping $1.49 for a single bar), I’d buy out the store and be well stocked in chocolate for…a week?  Maybe? 😀

What’s your favorite kind of chocolate?

appleOur apple tree has finally started blooming, and it looks lovely.  I can’t wait for all these beautiful blossoms to turn into tasty fruit. 🙂

The kids, on the other hand, likely feel differently.  They’re not terribly fond of picking up the fallen apples.

Afloat

slideAs I’ve mentioned before, Thumper doesn’t know how to be still.  The kid is always moving, even when he’s asleep.

What I wouldn’t give to have that kind of energy.

However, his inability to sit still has come in quite handy for this week’s photo challenge.  Because he is completely unable to sit still, I was able to catch him floating off the slide one day at the park.  I have no idea how I did it (though I’m pretty sure it involved burst shooting), but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

Maybe the reason Thumper can’t sit still is because he’s such a happy little guy that all that joy physically lifts him up?  Of course, if that’s the case, then maybe we’ll have to rechristen him Bubbles and find a new nickname for his big brother… 😀

Last night, Seymour and Bubbles spent the remaining light of day playing catch out in the yard.  Cricket, not one to be left behind, was desperate to go outside and join them.  I snapped this as he was hurrying through getting his shoes and coat on.  He was so excited that I had to be quick with the camera if I wanted to capture even a bit of his joy.

I imagine I might look a bit like this come five o’clock this evening… 🙂

Photo Friday: The good ol’ days

Today we revisit the summer of 2003, when I worked for the Reinbeck Courier with my bestest bud and was expecting a bubbly arrival:

raindance

Here we are, dancing in the street as the first rain we’d had in a good month or so fell freely from the sky.  It was a beautiful day, and unbeknownst to us (at the time), our boss was watching from the window, camera in hand.  This picture ran on the front page.  We laughed.

Man, I had a good time that summer.  It’s hard to beat doing a job you love with awesome people.

And nothing beats a good rain dance. 🙂

Don’t forget to check out Charnele’s throwback post! 🙂

Have you ever danced in the rain (literally, as above, or figuratively)?
