Hiya! It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I’ve been keeping plenty busy the last week or so and, for the next few days at least, it looks to remain the same. Big things going at the day job have been keeping me tied up from nine to five-ish and my book club’s selection of the month has been keeping me spellbound after hours, in addition to the usual craziness.
So, to sum up: I’m sorry for being so absent! But I plan to share many book thoughts soon (I’ve been collecting them as I read – God, it feels good to be reading age-appropriate material again!). But until then, sweet dreams!

I’m reading Defending Jacob by William Landay. I crossed the halfway point last night. It’s an excellent book, unputdownable, though it has had the unforeseen side effect of making me hug my children – and my husband – every chance I get.

Just read the description on Amazon… sounds really gripping! But also heartwrenching!

It is! It’s a wonderfully written book; I’ve made so many notes already – favorite quotes, parts that resonated with me, etc. Not that I can relate to having a son on trial for murder, but I can certainly relate to the challenges of parenthood.
And some of the legal stuff is interesting, too, since I work in that area. I particularly liked the one judge’s description. But I’ll save all that for my review post. 😉
