A geek to the core, I reside in the midst of an Iowa cornfield with my husband and four children. When I'm not chasing the kids every which way but loose, you can find me penning fantastical tales of great heroism and twue wuv...and possibly procrastinating online.

I miss rollerskating! The last rink near home closed a dozen years back after a massive flood. The damage was so severe they couldn’t afford to fix it. 😭
My dad owned and ran our local skating rink for a few years when I was in school. Good times. We were in the skating rink when no one else was there yet. The record hops on Friday nights were the best time!
I miss rollerskating so, so much. There used to be three roller rinks within 45 minutes of my house growing up, but by the time I graduated high school, there was only one left and that one succumbed to a major flood a dozen years ago this summer. Friday and Saturday nights out skating with friends were the best time – I loved watching the jump contests, and I can’t hear Van Halen’s “Jump” without thinking of skating. 🙂
Love this.
