It’s been a while, hasn’t it?
It’s not that I haven’t wanted to write. I have. It’s just that, well, I feel like I don’t have the words, or the brain power to form them. I could try to explain it, or you could just go read this post from Rarasaur, which says exactly how I’ve felt the past couple of weeks much better than I could.
So what have I been up to? Well, I’ve been scanning a lot of photos. I’m hoping that the process will be a little less time-intensive from here on out; I’ve finished scanning all the photo albums that my grandparents kept for me when I was growing up. My grandma wrote who was in each picture, the date it was taken, and what the event was (birthday, holiday, concert, etc.) on the back of every photo in those albums. I wanted to keep track of all that info, but typing all of that in on my phone takes time (especially when I fat-thumb the keys, which happens a lot).
Most of the photos I took over the years, though, don’t have such meticulous records, though, which means a lot less to enter. I still remember most of the people in the pictures, and most of the places where they were taken, but I don’t have to flip the pictures over to find it all, which helps.
In the meantime, I thought I’d share a few of my favorite finds from my stroll down memory lane:
- Four generations: My grandpa, my mom, me, and my great-grandma.
- Wasn’t I a cutie? 😊
- I love seeing pictures of my dad in uniform.
- My love of books started early. Here, my grandpa reads to my sister and me.
- My love of shawls began early, too. I wore this one to prom in 1999.
- Proof I was destined to become a shutterbug. 😄
- I loved my Popple bigwheel.
- Dandelion fields forever!
- Summer means lots of sandbox fun is in store.
- Having weird parents builds character, and my kids and my niece are lucky enough to have super-weird moms. 😂
- I still have that binder, and I still use it to write on.
- When receiving a stack of plaid flannel shirts for Christmas in the ’90s, tackle-hug take-downs were the only appropriate thank-you.
How about you – have you been strolling down memory lane with your family in this time of enforced family togetherness?

Love them! I have felt the same lately. Think it’s something in the air.

Thanks! It’s been fun revisiting my youth, even if it does occasionally make me feel super old. 😂
I’m glad it’s not just me who’s feeling like this. I know that in time, this too shall pass, but I am really, really over this current moment.
