So, this is what a truckload of corn looks like:
I’m pretty sure this is a perfect explanation for why I’ve been so tired all week.

It’s a comfort to know that when lunch disappoints, there’s dessert to make up for it. 🙂

The boys wanted a tractor ride while Daddy was mowing lawn, so we got our shoes and socks on and – eventually – trooped outside for said ride around the yard. Â Thumper always wants to be first, but Cricket beat him to the punch. Â So while Daddy adjusted Cricket’s hearing protection, Thumper and I retreated to the sidewalk.

Apparently he thinks lawnmowers are quite loud, but he still had a great time riding around the yard when it was his turn.

This apple beauty was my reward for freezing God only knows how many quarts of corn. Â It’s upwards of 90, but the exact amount is uncertain because we ran out of bags. Â There’s still a boatload left to freeze, but we’re also out of freezer space.

Apple pie has never tasted so good.

I’m so creative with my post title today, aren’t I?
Anyway, I decided last weekend when I found one of my mom’s old embroidery hoops that I should take up embroidery again. Â My grandma gave me an embroidery kit once for Christmas when I was a kid and, though I started one of the samplers, I never finished.

No, I didn’t do this, but maybe someday…
I bought some embroidery floss and a fat square the other day when Miss Tadpole and I went to pick out the fabric for her home ec. project. Â I don’t have a pattern yet, but I was thinking something in a fleur de lis would be pretty. Â Of course, since I bought green and red floss, maybe I should stick with a holly and berry theme? Â That would be pretty too.
I’ll let you know how it goes.

Inspired by my good friend Mara, I’ve decided to undertake a new project. I’m going to post a photo a day for a year. I hope my skills continue to develop. Also, it’ll be fun.
Right?
Right. 🙂

So, without further ado, here’s a picture I took as I was leaving work tonight. It’s a perfect depiction of how I felt all day, of struggling to shine on despite the haze, and I love the way it turned out.
I hope you like it, and I hope you stick around and see where my camera and I end up. Happy Friday!
