I need ALL the coffee!

I think this about sums things up:

I had intended to post this on Monday. It was absolutely fitting after a weekend spent building a bookshelf. I may not have done any of the heavy lifting, but I did spend Sunday cleaning, and for some reason, it wore me out more than normal. Monday morning was rough.

Then I thought I’d post it on Tuesday. That didn’t happen, either. Nor did it happen on Wednesday. Or yesterday. Tuesday we went home early. Yesterday we went home early.

Today we worked from home, but I still didn’t get to sleep in because I had to drive Seymour to work. Today, I needed ALL the coffee.

So I had some. And now I’m sharing this lovely nerdy meme because coffee is the finest organic suspension ever devised (even if I haven’t beaten the Borg with it).

And also because I’m trying a new recipe and something that was supposed to take roughly an hour and a half is proving to be much more labor-intensive than I’d originally thought and now I need more coffee, but it’s getting late and if I have more coffee, I’ll be up all night and that probably wouldn’t be good.

So.

Perhaps tomorrow morning, I’ll indulge in another cup.

How are you all doing? Are you safe? Are you sane? Are you ready for the schools to reopen again? *hugs*

If we were having coffee…

coffee…I’d tell you how much I’m looking forward to having a day off.  Not that it will happen any time in the near future, but hey – a girl can dream.

…I’d tell you that I’ve only got twenty pages left of The Price of Mercy to rewrite.  I can’t believe I’m so close to being done with this draft.  Now if only I weren’t taking half-hour lunch breaks the next two weeks… 🙂

…I’d tell you that it truly boggles my mind to think that Thanksgiving is only a week and a half away.  Wasn’t it just January last week?  Where has 2015 gone?

…I’d tell you that I need a nap.  Badly.  Anyone know where I can get the time for that? 😀

…I’d ask how things are going with you.  After all, it’s probably been way too long since the last time we caught up.

What about you – if we were having coffee, what would you have to talk about?  Tell me below!

This pretty much sums up how I’m feeling right now.  This cold is still kicking my butt, but in the last twenty-four hours, I’ve managed to finish that story for Miss Tadpole (and she liked it so much, she took it to school to show off), fix a bunch of track changes issues in stories I’d submitted for an anthology (and learned how to use track changes correctly in the process), start reviewing a short story for someone (Oh, hello, track changes, how are you today?), and process two tax returns at work.

*scarfs chocolate miraculously left over from yesterday*

Of course, these are quite fitting for today’s mental state as well:

Our local coffee shop has the best décor.  Of course, I probably only think that because it happens to be true.

On second thought, no I don’t.  It’s awesome regardless of its truth.

I’m inspiring – who knew?

Rumor has it that I’m inspiring.  At least that’s what Lindsey Parsons says, because she’s nominated me for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award.  Since I’ve received a few of these now over the last couple of months, I think you all know the drill, but in case you don’t:

Ze Rules

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you. (I’ve done this profusely, as I’ve done with every other award.)
  2. Share seven things about yourself. (See below.)
  3. Nominate other bloggers you think deserve the award, and post on their blog to let them know they’ve been nominated. (See below the below.)

My Seven Things

  1. adore Italian food.   Can’t get enough of it.
