A while back, I opened WordPress to look at a new comment I’d received and, lo and behold, the comment was to let me know that I’d been nominated for the Super Sweet Blog Award! I found the timing quite hilarious as I’d just read another comment on a forum where someone described me as “…very sweet natured, but…she has a darker side!” Apparently, I’m chocolate. 😀
Anyway, many thanks to Mandy Eve Barnett, who nominated me for the award! This one goes like this:
- Thank the person who nominated you.
- Answer six super sweet questions.
- Include the Super Sweet Blogging Award picture in your post.
- Nominate a baker’s dozen of deserving bloggers.
- Notify the nominees on their blogs!
And now, ze questions:
Cookies or cake?
Cake cookies? 😀 This is hard – cookies are wonderful, but I love cake slathered in frosting, especially buttercream or coconut pecan.
Chocolate or vanilla?
Uh…both? I guess I’ll have to say chocolate because I adore it so, but vanilla ice cream was my first love.
Favorite sweet treat?
Strawberry Laffy Taffy is the first thing that comes to mind, probably because I just had some for lunch (well, dessert, anyway). But panna cotta is good, and I love cherry cheesecake, and anything chocolate, and anything fruity, and pretty much everything here (I know not all of these are sweet, but an astounding number of them are)…Uh-oh, now I’m starving. 😀
Favorite memory of eating sweets?
I have a picture of my dad and me sitting downtown eating cherry balls and drinking pop. Given my age, I’d bet the pop was a suicide (a combination of all the fountain pops plus all the syrups in the drugstore – delish) – it was my favorite drink for years. I also have fond memories of trips to the drugstore with my first “boyfriend” (we were 9 or 10, hence the quotes) for penny candy and pop on our way to the creek, where we tried – and failed – to catch fish. And I have a lot of memories involving pop and candy with friends from my teen years. Those are probably best not repeated. 😀
When do you crave sweet things the most?
Always. Seriously, if given the choice between sweet and salty, I will choose sweet almost every time.
Super sweet nickname?
Well, Seymour calls me Honey. My grandma called me Sugar when I was little. That’s about as close to a sweet nickname as I’ve ever come.
Nominations:
You know, I feel like every time I get one of these, I always nominate the same people. So this time, it’s gonna be an open nomination – if you want it, snag it and have some fun with it! After all, you’re all pretty super sweet yourselves! 🙂

It might come to that, if I can ever get my computer up and running (lousy updates). Last night I was just too tired. 🙂
