There’s an old hospital in the town I work in. I’m not sure how long ago it closed, or why, really, because the building now houses a doctor’s office and a home health care agency, but shuttered hospitals never fail to arouse my curiosity (this despite the fact that, for me, there’s something inherently petrifying in the thought of ghostly physicians of yore (thanks, House on Haunted Hill)).
This particular building also hosts a haunted hospital tour each October. I’ve never been through it, but it does sound fun (though not for Cricket and Thumper, as they’re too little to see the amusement in being terrified). Tomorrow night is the last night for it this year, and all the proceeds are invested in the community, which makes it fun and beneficial. 🙂
Don’t forget to stop by Charnele’s blog and check out her haunted photo.
Have you ever been through a haunted house? What was it like? Would you do it again?

I have, and being a little/lot sick I loved every minute of it. Funnily enough, I’d always imagined that foreign ghosts would moan in English. Sort of loses its impact when you can’t understand a single wail.

I’ve never been through a haunted house. There are several around here in the fall, though, so maybe I’ll go to one sometime. 🙂

I don’t believe in ghosts so it was all a bit lost on me.

I did when I was little, and I’d kind of like to now, because…Well, actually, I don’t know why. The idea of them always sort of appealed to me, and I think there are some things that we just can’t know about for sure. Maybe I’m just looking for something to believe in, although ghosts and goblins are strange things around which to form a belief structure.

I actually have seen a ghost, but my belief system won’t allow me to accept it. The whole thing lasted just seconds and was not at all scary. I just like to pretend it didn’t happen.

Interesting. There could be a story in there! 🙂

There is. The person in question was Chief Sitting Bull, And the reason I know that is I’m friend’s with his great*5 grandson who lives in London; and if you think that’s odd, he’s a plumber and bass guitarist in a local band. Honest.

I prefer to believe that anything is possible, however improbable it may seem.
Also, that would make a great story. Think of the possibilities! 🙂

No, he wouldn’t like it. And someone with his peculiar powers is not someone I’d like to annoy.
