Photo Friday: Wait, what?

It’s Friday again?  Already?  But I just went back to work from a long weekend yesterday…How is it Friday again so soon?  WHAT HAPPENED TO MAY?!?!?!?!

On a related note, what happened to the last thirteen years?  I mean, really – how is it that it’s now been 20 years since the ’90s?

Yes, I’m feeling a bit old this week.

Since the thirteenth anniversary of my high school graduation was this past Tuesday, this week’s throwback photo is one of many from that bittersweet day and features some of my closest friends from high school.  One has since disappeared off the face of the earth, but I think I saw her a few years ago as I stopped at a local convenience store on my way to work one morning, and she didn’t look any different (though I’m pretty sure she didn’t see me, or I’d have been late to work that day).

Oh, Gretchen, how we miss you!

Oh, Gretchen, how we miss you!

Anyway.

I’m glad to say that I still keep in touch with the other two lovely ladies, but it’s been far too long since we’ve gotten together.  That’s life, though, isn’t it?

This photo is bittersweet for me for a number of reasons, not least of which involve the potential dissolution of my school district.  I really hope the current fracas can be settled amicably, but I’m not holding my breath.  Tensions are high on both sides of the issue.

But I digress.

That took a turn for the depressing, didn’t it?  Let’s brighten things back up!  I’ve had “Graduation (Friends Forever)” stuck in my head since I started this post, and I think it’s a nice way to wrap things up.

As we go on, we remember
All the times we had together
And as our lives change, come whatever
We will still be friends forever

Happy Friday, everybody! 🙂

Oh this made me teary eyed! Every graduation season I think of this song.
So sad what’s going on in the district. We were fortunate to have been GR. You ladies look beautiful!! Wish we all said that to each other more often back then.
PS That’s my mom, step dad, and grandpa in the background. 🙂

Aww, thanks, Deidra! We definitely should have said more of that back then. 🙂

And it’s awful what’s going on with the school – it’s ripping the communities apart. It breaks my heart to see this happening. 😦
