“I love you, tiny human. I think I’ll keep you.”
*sigh*
One of our cats isn’t doing well. Poor Buddy seems to be the target of the neighborhood bully. I don’t know who (or what) is beating him up, but the poor guy is really suffering. We cleaned out a wound near his eye last weekend, and this afternoon we went to clean it again and discovered an abscess on top of his head.
The poor thing is just miserable, and I feel miserable for him.
I was going to share a picture from the local paper today; there’s an article in it about my upcoming book signing, but I think I’ll wait a day or so. Poor Buddy’s at the top of my thoughts at the moment, so here’s a picture of him from earlier this year, snuggling up to Cricket one morning as I was heading off to work. He’s one of the most affectionate cats I’ve ever had the privilege to know, and I hope he makes it through this.
How do you cope with an ill pet?

Sassie spends her life ill but the other cat, Harley is a tough guy. He’s far too cool to be ill.

We had a cat named Sassy once. I miss her.

You can have ours, then. Settled.

Lol! I miss our sassy cat. She definitely lived up to her name. Every time she looked at me, I could hear Sally Field’s voice in my head. 🙂

I hear that voice from the girl in The Exorcist

I freak out in my head, worry, worry, worry, figure out what my options of helping said pet, help him as much as humanly possible, and hope (oh and worry and worry and worry some more).
I don’t like it when my fuzzy babies aren’t feeling 100% awesome.
I hope Buddy comes through on top. 🙂

Sounds familiar – I do pretty much the same thing. Thanks for the good wishes!

Thanks! He was still pretty grumpy last night, but I can’t blame him. Poor guy.

Indeed. I suspect one of our other cats is beating him up, and I really hope I’m wrong about that because I want them all to get along.

Our cats fight too, sadly.

I’ve had cats who fought before, but not like this. Usually they were content to growl at each other, maybe take a swipe, and then run away. But I think Shadow is the one picking on Buddy, and they’re both tomcats, so I am NOT getting in the middle of that. My ex-husband’s mother got in the middle of two fighting tomcats once and ended up having to visit the emergency room once she got them off her leg. I don’t need to repeat that scenario.
I do, however, wish they would just get along. Won’t somebody think of the children? 😀
