I love photographing flowers almost as much as I love shooting the sky. I love all the textures, the shapes, the way you can create a whole scene with nothing more than a few stamen and a petal.
Here, then, are some pretty, pretty flowers, shot in a variety of lighting conditions and from a variety of angles:

Clearly I have trouble limiting myself to a few pictures. Thank goodness for digital photography, or I’d go broke developing pictures! 🙂

Thank you! Flowers, clouds, and trees are some of my favorites, too. A couple summers ago, I spent a ridiculous amount of time capturing bright blue skies full of fluffy white clouds. I hate to think how many pictures I ended up with of clouds over green fields, but the scenes were not to be resisted. 🙂

Absolutely beautiful! Did you use a macro? I love experimenting too. Recently , took a pic of a flower with a bee buzzing on it. But the absence of a macros lens restricts me.

Thank you! And no, I didn’t use a macro. I’ve been eying one for a while, but I still don’t have one. I used the macro setting on my camera for some of the shots, but the rest were just lucky. 🙂
I love those shots with bees or flies perched on a flower – they’re so great when they turn out. 🙂

Thank you! I’m terrible at actually keeping the flowers alive, but at least with pictures, I can still enjoy them. 😀

Ha ha! I completely understand. I’ve always studied and worked to have a “green thumb,” but it hasn’t happened yet. I think my thumb has possibly gone from black to brown, though! 🙂

I put my husband in charge of keeping the plants alive. They seem to do better that way. 😀

Oh, ours would definitely die if I did that! The poor things have so little chance around here. Lol

My husband is our plants’ only chance. 🙂
