Orange you glad it’s the weekend?

This week’s Daily Press Photo Challenge is all about the color orange.  The world is full of orange, and I can’t get enough of it (especially the color we had our living room painted in our last house – I think it was called Hearthstone or something like that – it was gorgeous and I could have painted every room in the house that color).  Since I’m such a sunset devotee, I decided to share some of my more orangey pictures (though a couple other things made their way in as well).

Don’t forget to check out some of the other orange posts, and have a great weekend! 🙂

Photo 365 #102: A pop of color

Over the summer, we had a potted impatien out in front of our office.  It was a lovely thing, and when the temps turned colder, we brought it inside.  But sitting just inside the door as it was proved detrimental to its health, and it withered.

One of my coworkers brought it inside and set it near the window in our coat room.  She’s got a much greener thumb than I have, and decided to try nursing it back to health.

Last week, we noticed a bloom.  A couple days later, there was another one.  This morning, I counted four or five, and those are just on the side of the plant I can see – the side facing the window appears to have a few more blooms on it.

Now that we’ve got a bit of snow on the ground, it’s a treat to see something so bright and different amid the white.

Photo Friday Blues

That’s right, today’s theme is blue:

Me: What shade of blue?
Seymour: You know, blue.
Me: Yes, but what shade – sky blue?  Baby blue?  Cerulean?  Aquamarine?
Seymour: Just blue!  Crayola blue!
(drive to Lowe’s)
Seymour: Yes, I’m looking for some blue paint.
Paint guy: Okay, what shade?  We have 887 different varieties of blue.

Sorry, every time I hear the word blue, I recall the time we painted Bubbles’ bedroom.  It just never gets old. 😀

But this picture is not of his room.  This is my steamy bathroom window one morning this past winter.  I just love this picture; it’s got so many shades of color, and the texture in it is just fantastic.  It reminds me a bit of all the ice in Frozen (great movie, by the way, and despite the fact that I’ve seen it a zillion times since Easter, I still haven’t tired of it yet).

Anyway, happy Friday!  Does anyone have any big plans for the long weekend?  Tell me all about them in the comments so I can live vicariously through you – we’re staying home this weekend.  And don’t forget to stop by Charnele’s blog and see what she’s got up for this week’s extra-blue Photo Friday!
