The apples have once more begun to fall, which meant we spent a good chunk of Saturday morning picking them up so Seymour could mow lawn.

While we worked, Princess Opal and her kin slept in the yard.  Doesn’t Buddy look comfy under the tree?  So kind of them to help us out. 😀

Shadow: “Opal!  You’re back!  Welcome home!”

Opal: “Why thank you, Mr. Regal.  It’s good to be back.”

Shadow: “Yeah, yeah, yeah – of course you are.  Now, enough small talk – let me sniff your butt.”

Opal: *rolls eyes* “Males.  Ugh.”

I guess some things will never change. 🙂

After a week away, Miss Opal has returned.  We thought she’d been eaten by a coyote, so last night, Seymour set out a live trap.

Imagine his surprise when he checked it this morning and found Opal inside.

I haven’t seen her this lovey in…well, ever, actually.  But it’s good to have her home. 🙂

I know, I know, if you’ve seen one picture of wet grass, you’ve seen ’em all.

But I can’t help it.  I love trying to catch those tiny drops of dew before they fade away, like the mist in the morning light. 🙂

Hope your weekend is full of blue skies and lots of fun!

Hey, what’s that blue stuff?

The sky, you say?  Impossible.  Our sky is all gray and overcast and full of rain.  This bright blue thing can’t possibly be sky.

Can it? 😀

We had a beautiful sunrise yesterday morning, before the storms moved in.

Seymour had our sandbox filled yesterday as a surprise for the boys.

I haven’t seen them this excited since Christmas. 🙂

What kind of surprises make your kids happy?

Buddy is looking so much better. It’s been over a week since we cleaned out his wounds again, and he is in much better spirits.

Best of all, he’s no longer mad at us. Now that he’s feeling better, he seems to have forgotten last week’s misery, at least for the most part. He didn’t take too kindly to Thumper’s attempts to pet his eyeball, earning my hoppy boy a scratch on the arm.

Of course, if someone tried to pet my eyeball, I’d be a little grumpy, too.

Just sayin’. 🙂
