It’s a meme!

I stole this from Miss Mezz’s LJ because I was bored and it looked like fun.

1.  Make a list of five things you can see without getting up.
I can see some plants, a fireplace, several boxes of files, fishies, and my super-cool secretary coffee mug.

2.  Name one weird quirk about yourself.
Let’s see…I love to eat chunky peanut butter straight from the jar, but I hate peanut butter sandwiches (even if there’s jelly) and peanut butter cookies and pretty much anything else containing peanut butter (except for Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups – yum).  Sorry, that’s the weirdest thing I can come up with right now.

3.  What are you wearing now?
I’m wearing my gray corduroy maternity pants that are too short because I couldn’t find them in a tall size, a gray cami, gray socks, a black 3/4-sleeve maternity shirt that’s oh-so-very pretty and still fits despite Greg throwing it in the dryer once, my usual work shoes, and my wedding/engagement rings.  I like to keep it simple (and apparently, monochromatic).

4.  What’s your occupation?
Right now, and for the next two weeks, legal secretary/tax girl/file expert extraordinaire.  After that, stay at home mom/aspiring novelist.

5.  What do you hear right now?
I’m listening to “oldies” (they’re not really all that old, hence the quotes, although at least this station isn’t yet playing stuff from the ’90s) on the radio and our own miniature version of Niagara Falls (aka the fish tank).

6.  What’s your favorite guilty pleasure treat?
I can only pick one?  Okay, well, I guess if you’re gonna twist my arm, I’d have to go with pickle wraps.  You know, where you slather a dill pickle in cream cheese and then wrap a piece of meat around it?  I’ve had them with ham and dried beef and I prefer the beef to the ham.  My sister and I once devoured an entire jar of pickles in one sitting this way.  Oh, was it yummy!

7.  Are you hungry?
Not at the moment.  I just finished pigging out on puppy chow.  Mmm, puppy chow…

8.  Write the first word that comes to mind.
Arkona.  It’s a place in my book.  Apparently, there’s also a street in Berlin called Arkonaplatz, which I saw on Flickr this morning and found entirely too amusing.  What can I say?  I’m easily amused.

9.  If you could punch someone in the face, who would it be?
Again, I can only pick one?  Oh, all right, the idiot who decided it was okay to blow up Vulcan in the last Star Trek movie.  Yes, I’m still upset about that.  If they keep coming out with more movies along that line, I’ll see them, but I won’t be happy about it.  Maybe.

10.  What song is currently stuck in your head?
I’ve had “Coal Miner’s Daughter” and “You Ain’t Woman Enough (To Take My Man)” alternating in my head since Saturday night when Greg and I stayed up way too late watching Coal Miner’s Daughter.  Both are good songs.  The movie was good – incredibly long, but good – and the soundtrack was awesome.

11.  What was the last thing you bought?
I guess that would be the Cherry Coke I’m currently savoring, but ssshh – you’re not supposed to know that.

12.  If you could afford to go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I think I’d start in Ireland and work my way west through Europe.  Then I’d hit Japan and maybe Australia.  I’d also like to see more of America, since I’m not very well-traveled at all.

13.  Where do you see yourself in five minutes?
Still chained to my desk, possibly working on yet another spreadsheet.  Only this time, there will be pretty colors to break up the monotony of number-crunching and keep my eyes from crossing.

14.  Ever met any of your online friends in real life?
Once.  Although does it really count that we were introduced by a mutual friend because we had a similar problem?  We emailed back and forth forever and then did the usual Facebook/LiveJournal friending thing, and we’ve met up since, but it’s been quite a while since we’ve seen each other or even emailed.  And if you’re reading this, Miss Johanna, I’m still eagerly awaiting that email! 🙂

15.  What are you doing this weekend?
Saturday I have a soccer game to go to and Sunday I have a graduation reception to go to after Tom gets back from working on the garden at the elementary school with his Cub Scout troop.  Oh, and there’s church.  I’ll probably spend the rest of the weekend catching up on the laundry I’ve been avoiding for far too long.  Ooh, look at me with the super-exciting life, yo.

16.  If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play?
Well, I already play the flute, although I’m rather out of practice at the moment and therefore quite rusty.  I would love to play the piano and the violin.

17.  How are you?
I’m tired, as usual.  I’m also ready to be done with this whole pregnancy business so that I can take some medicine for things already!

18.  How do you view the world?
I’m a glass-half-full kinda girl.  Also, money isn’t everything, although I could certainly do with a little more of it.

19.  What are you looking forward to the most?
I can’t wait till August and Mr. Ryan’s arrival!  Then I can get all medicated again (stupid jaw) and hopefully have my sinuses fixed (stupid sinuses).

    Is Ryan the name? 🙂

LOL. I wasn’t too happy about the Vulcan thing either.

I love Coal Miner’s Daughter (definitely is long, though). Sissy Spacek was really awesome in it. I just enjoyed the story so much. Especially since, ya know, it’s true.

Yep, Ryan William. William was Greg’s grandpa’s name and Ryan was the only first name we could agree on.

And Sissy Spacek was awesome! So was Tommy Lee Jones – I couldn’t get over his hair color and how young he looked.

Hey! It’ll be awhile before I can get back to you–going out of town now (no internet access) until June. Yay for vacations! 🙂
