I captured this stunner of a sunset on my way to pick Bubbles up from church the other night.

If I hadn’t had to pick him up, I could’ve happily sat on the side of the road photographing the sky till the sun went down.  I know I’ve said it before (about a million times, probably), but I love our sunsets here.

What do you love about where you live?

It was another foggy morning yesterday:

foggyroad

And this is the good fog – about a mile north of our house, I drove into a foggy wall, and I didn’t come out of it till I got to work.  I actually drove past the county line without realizing it till five miles later when suddenly the road curved to the right.  It was crazy.

I wish I could have stayed home and enjoyed the fog through the window, pencil and paper in hand.  What do you think of the fog?

Photo Friday: Besties

This picture isn’t quite as old as some of the others I’ve been posting, but after reading this comment on my scouting throwback post, I decided a post with Miss A. was in order. 🙂

besties

This one is from the summer of 2008, when Miss A. came back for a visit.  I don’t remember why, just that we had a great time seeing each other, as we always do.  It doesn’t matter how far apart we are, we’ll always be the best of friends. 🙂

Don’t forget to check out Charnele’s Photo Friday post! 🙂

Wasn’t it just gorgeous yesterday?  The springy beauty started early and lasted all day.  I had to go out yesterday afternoon, and happened to catch this:

flaggy

Flags fluttering in a light spring breeze, a vivid blue sky without a single cloud, the sun shining down – how can you beat that?  Makes a girl feel glad to be alive. 🙂

This morning I was treated to a beautifully foggy sunrise:

That’s the town a couple miles from my house.  Despite the fog, you can see pretty much the whole town in this picture.

I love how well this turned out!  Foggy mornings are just so inspiring. 🙂

My cats like to swarm when we leave the house.  I think they’re laboring under the impression that if they swarm us enough times, we’ll give in to their demands to be let inside permanently, and if Seymour weren’t so horribly allergic, maybe we would.

They don’t play fair – there’s nothing more tempting than an adorable kitty cat.  But I stayed strong in the face of such manipulation.  They won’t stay mad at me for long, right? 😀

I was pleasantly surprised this morning to find I’d awoken in a winter wonderland.  Forced to brave the subzero cold, I at least had the pleasure of watching the snow sparkle in the sunlight as it clung to the trees:

I may grouse about winter an awful lot, but I can’t imagine a prettier sight than this after all the gray days we’ve had of late. 🙂

Funny how much can change in a day, isn’t it?  Driving into work yesterday looked like this:

snowyroad

Meanwhile, this morning was bright and sunny, and the few clouds in the sky added to the scene, rather than detracting from it.  If it weren’t so blessed cold (we’re talking record lows), I’d say this is the kind of day that makes a person feel good to be alive, but since it is, I’ll leave you with something Bubbles said last night:

B: “When I got off the bus, I thought I was on Hoth.”

Kid’s not wrong… 🙂

It’s the snowpocalypse!

That’s right, we’re finally getting our share of snow here in the Midwest, and boy, do I wish the forecast had been right the first time.  That forecast had most of the snow falling overnight, meaning I wouldn’t have to drive in it.  But the revised forecast had it starting this morning, and it came pretty much when they said it would.

It hasn’t let up since.

I’ve been documenting it on Instagram all day, and I’ll probably post another picture just before I leave.  Suffice it to say, we’ve had quite a bit of snow in a short amount of time, and it ain’t even close to over.  *sigh*
