Here we are, at the end of another week, and I must say I’m glad of it. I’m not looking forward to spending the weekend painting, but that’s another story. Anyway, on to the photo of the day!
Today’s photo features Tomcat, my oldest son. Clearly this is not a recent photo, as my darling baby boy will be nine on Wednesday. Nine! How the heck did that happen? Oh, right. I blinked. I remember now. He was just over two and a half when I snapped this picture, slightly older than Cricket is now. He looks so little! And now he’s so big! I can’t believe I have a third grader on my hands!
Quick, someone pass me a brick – or better yet, a couple of cinder blocks – and some rope. I can fix this, I know I can. I’ll just tie the brick to his head and that will halt all upward mobility. Yeah, that’ll do it.
Okay, you can stop laughing now. And in case you were wondering, yes, I do occasionally answer to Cleopatra. I even rented the movie they made about me to ensure they got all the details about my life correct. If not, well, you know what they say about women and fury and such. 😉
In all seriousness, my little Tomcat is growing up to be one heck of a good kid, one of whom I am exceedingly proud. I just wish this whole growth thing would slow down a bit – it seems like I just snapped this picture yesterday!

What a great image, is it the model, is it the composition? Dunno, but it’s good 🙂
