Books I want to read this year

I have an extensive list of books that I would like to read and it seems that my list grows longer every day.  But since I’m keeping track of which books I’ve read through the course of the year, perhaps if I keep track of which books I’d like to read, I might stand a chance of reading a few more of those desired titles.

So, without further ado, here are some of the books I’d like to read this year:

There are undoubtedly more, but it’s getting late and these were all I could think of.  But I think I’ll keep adding to my little list so that I can keep better track of how I’m doing with my To-Be-Read list.

Ooo, Classics Club? I’ll have to check that out – I love classic literature. And I saw that today was the 200th anniversary of P&P. I wanted to celebrate by watching the 2005 movie (only because it’s shorter than the Colin Firth version), but I couldn’t convince my husband and sons to give up the TV for a couple of hours. *sigh* Men just don’t understand these things. 😀

I adore Pride and Prejudice. Actually, I adore everything by Jane Austen, but that one is one of my favorites. I haven’t yet read Wuthering Heights, but it’s been on my to-read list for over a decade now and it’s high time I knock it off my list. 😀

I have the same problem! I’ve been meaning to reread The Great Gatsby for years. I read it in high school and didn’t like it, but it was assigned, so I didn’t have a choice. I wondered if I might like it better now I’m older, so I picked up a copy at a used book sale a few years back, but it’s been languishing on my bookshelf ever since. Imagine my surprise when it showed up on my book club’s reading list for the month of April! I plan to start reading it tonight; I hope I’ll like it better the second time around than I did the first. 🙂

What a great idea to keep a list. That way, you’ll have more chance of getting to read the books you want. From the UBC.

I’ve been meaning to read Wuthering Heights for the last twelve years. I managed to see the movie with Timothy Dalton a couple of years ago on TCM, but so far, that’s as far as I’ve gotten. I bought the book in paperback and audio versions, but I have yet to read it. I thought maybe sticking this to the top of my blog would help with motivation, but so far, that hasn’t been the case. *sigh*

Thanks for stopping by! I’m glad you liked my list idea. I only wish I’d thought of this sooner – it would be nice to have a list of all the books I’ve read over the years. 😀
