Award season continues…again!

liebsterYes, it’s another award post.  Apparently, ’tis the season.  This time, I’ve been nominated for the Liebster Award by Fantasy Angel of the Avid Reader Blog.  I get to answer eleven questions about myself before asking eleven more of my nominees.  Fun, huh?

I’ve been nominated for this one once before, and if you care to read my answers from a couple years ago, you can find that post here.

Now then, let’s begin:

Which fictional character are you most like?

I think I’m a lot like Hermione Granger.  We’re both bookish, and I always feel like I don’t quite fit in, which Hermione definitely didn’t at the start of the series.

Also?

2015-03-03 17.59.19I love the beauty
Of a warm spring day, but I
Loathe the allergies

That always come with
It.  I feel like death warmed o’er,
And I look the same.

‘Tis such a pity
That all I want to do this
Glorious day is

Curl up under
The covers and sleep till I
Feel human again.

Time to spread the love!

HappyThe lovely Mara Eastern nominated me to participate in the Spread Love Challenge, and since I love love, this sounded like loads of fun. 🙂

Ze rules:

1.  Write ten four-word sentences about what love means to you.
2.  Share your favorite quote on love.
3.  Nominate ten other bloggers to do the same.

How do I feel about love?  Well, I just told you above, but here are ten )rather longer than four words but hopefully delightfully illustrative) sentences on what love means to me:

We had a tiny handyman at our house this weekend:

mr. fixit

Here he is trying to fix a picture before hanging it on the living room wall.  He also fixed our steps.  He’s quite the handy little Cricket.

Do your kids ever fix up your house like this?  What do they do?

I captured this stunner of a sunset on my way to pick Bubbles up from church the other night.

If I hadn’t had to pick him up, I could’ve happily sat on the side of the road photographing the sky till the sun went down.  I know I’ve said it before (about a million times, probably), but I love our sunsets here.

What do you love about where you live?

It was another foggy morning yesterday:

foggyroad

And this is the good fog – about a mile north of our house, I drove into a foggy wall, and I didn’t come out of it till I got to work.  I actually drove past the county line without realizing it till five miles later when suddenly the road curved to the right.  It was crazy.

I wish I could have stayed home and enjoyed the fog through the window, pencil and paper in hand.  What do you think of the fog?

2015-02-15 08.21.37Cricket is the family comedian.  He says such funny things, but he’s funniest when he’s being completely serious.

We’ve been enjoying the Music and Lyrics soundtrack in the car lately.  The boys always ask me the name of each song as it comes on, and sometimes they ask me another half dozen times throughout the course of the song.  Last night Cricket really wanted to hear the song “Tony the Beat,” but “A Different Sound” was playing, so he asked me which song was next:

Me: “Love Autopsy.”
Cricket: “What song is after that?”
M: “PoP! Goes My Heart.”
C: “And after that?”
M: “Buddha’s Delight.”
C: “And after that?”
M: “Meaningless Kiss.”
C: “And after that?”
M: “Entering Bootytown.”
C: “And after that?”
M: “Way Back Into Love.”

At this point, I fully expected him to ask what came after that (again), and since “Tony the Beat” was the next song, I thought maybe that would put an end to the questions (for a few minutes, anyway).  Instead, this happened:

C: *thinks for a minute*
C: “Entering Bootytown is the way back into love?”
M: *facepalm of epic proportions*

I told Seymour about it when we got home.  He’d had a long day of running errands, and this put a big ol’ smile on his face.  His response?  “From the mouths of babes…”

Kids. 🙂

Photo Friday: Besties

This picture isn’t quite as old as some of the others I’ve been posting, but after reading this comment on my scouting throwback post, I decided a post with Miss A. was in order. 🙂

besties

This one is from the summer of 2008, when Miss A. came back for a visit.  I don’t remember why, just that we had a great time seeing each other, as we always do.  It doesn’t matter how far apart we are, we’ll always be the best of friends. 🙂

Don’t forget to check out Charnele’s Photo Friday post! 🙂

Are these not the coolest things ever?

hpstamps

Seymour came home with some a week or so ago and when he showed them to me, I said he should have gotten a set to keep and a set to use.  He slid the book back in his hand to reveal a second book of stamps and replied, “Now what makes you think I’d do something like that?”

I love him so very, very much. 😀

A good decade ago (I refuse to admit that it’s been closer to two than one) when the post office issued Looney Tunes stamps, I had a whole set.  Unlike these, where each stamp is different, they released one character at a time.  It took a while to collect them all, but I love those stamps just as much as I love these.

And yes, I bought myself a set to use and a set to keep. 🙂

What are your favorite stamp designs?
