I pass this barn every day on my commute. Something about it stirs my soul; it just seems so forlorn sitting there among the weeds and dilapidated old farm equipment.
It’s a landmark for me because it means I’ve nearly reached my destination, that safety and friends are just a few more miles down the road. It’s strange how such a sad old building can convey such comfort.

Over here, we can buy such barns and turn them into homes, provided we don’t touch a single thing outside. Seems an awful expense to me.

I know someone who turned an old one-room schoolhouse into a home. They had to add on a bit, but it turned out quite nice. 🙂

They look great when they’re done but the prices are exorbitant. Almost a million.

I’ll bet. I hate to think how much it cost to renovate that old schoolhouse.

Especially so when the front can’t change even an iota, and probably with foundations that are no good.

That just seems silly to me.
